Evelyne R. Matthews is the President of Matthews and Matthews Consulting which
is a human resources and labor workforce company. She is an organizational trainer and consultant to many institutions in the areas of diversity, human resources, conflict resolution, mediation, workforce development, workplace violence, managing stress, sexual harassment, leadership, team building and communication skills.
She has over twenty- (20) years’ experience in the private and public sectors. A former police officer, she has dedicated her career towards resolving conflict. In was in this capacity that she provided training to youth and parents about peer mediation, drug awareness and gang violence. She serves as a mediator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S Postal Service Redress Program, the Westchester County Human Rights Commission and the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission. Moreover, she serves as an arbitrator for the Westchester County Court and the New York Stock Exchange. She is a change agent who firmly embraces the necessity that individuals must have the wherewithal to manage conflict.
She currently serves on the adjunct faculty at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies, the Paul McGhee Division. She previously served as a lecturer at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Empire State College (SUNY). Some of her clients include: the Bermuda Ministry of Labor, Prudential Securities, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S Environmental Protection Administration, Colgate Palmolive, the Federal Executive Board, Local 1-2 of the Utilities Workers of America, Transport Workers Union Local 100, the New York Athletic Club, the Ronald H. Brown Foundation, Brooklyn Community Access Television and the Office of the Westchester County District Attorney.
She holds a BA Degree in Psychology and earned Dispute Resolution Certificates from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Westchester County Human Rights Commission and the U.S. Postal Service. Evelyne a part time actor was a featured actor in a film in 2005 titled “Eye Was Blind” which won Best Drama at the New York/Los Angeles Independent Film Festival.
